Hi to all Greta Branxton Football Club Members,
What a great season 2019 has been for the Wildcats!
Our 51st year has again had some wonderful achievements.
More players than ever before in a club has more than doubled its size in 7 year -with players enjoying their game of football all season, learning new skills and making new friendships.
This is our second season to successfully run 3 & 4 years Mini Roos Kick Off Program with a bumper 50 participants – the largest in NNSWFA, Under 10’s & 11s Development Squads have again been successful with skill building and extra opportunities offered.
New programs including ‘Kick on for Girls’ offered at Miller Park were also successful and showed bumper numbers for NNSWFA.
Our successful development squads combined with the committee clubs vision, gave us the opportunity to enter Under 12s in an extremely competitive level of football with ‘B grade’. This is just the beginning of high graded junior competition teams for Greta Branxton FC juniors, which will continue over the next few seasons to include all junior age groups.
Our Inter-District Competition teams, Under 13s, 15s 16s & Over 35s were all Minor Premiers. Under 13,15 & Over 35s also took out the major premiership and Under 16sd making it through to the grand final and finishing as runners up in the grand final.
After last years mens ’A grade’ grand final win, Greta Branxton stepped up in competition, entered their top 2 Mens Teams into Zone League 3. The club successfully recruited Jeff Robinson as ZL3 coach, who brought skill & a new mindset for players to the club. The teams did exceptionally well in Zone League with both First & Second grade finishing second on the ladder and making it into the grand final.
The club committee will continue with their plan to raise the bar and standard of skills, competition and grading for all inter district and zone league teams to continue this success for future seasons
The first years launch for the Wildcats running ‘Summer 6’s’ was very successful last season & many teams are ready to kick off for some social fun
One of the most successful canteens, now with healthy food options in all of NNSWFA area
A hard working committee have obtained grants for a club defibrillator, completed concrete areas at miller park, and successfully received a grant with the help of club members for an all weather covered area to be completed in the off season
The new Masterplan for Miller Park which we have worked on with council for 3 years will now allow us in the near future to begin further upgrades to our facilities including, upgraded fencing, seating including grand stands, field improvements & improved training areas.
New sponsorship deals & grants will see further improvement with even equipment & training for teams already planned for 2020.
Our club is stepping ahead in leaps and bounds!
We hope to see you back playing with us in 2020 – it will be a bumper season with the likelihood of reaching 500 players, more success on and off the field and extra new programs on offer!
The current committee would love to see you come along to our next AGM meeting, volunteer some time with your club and help us make 2020 even better for our club & players.
As our club is growing and offering a vast amount of programs & improvements we need more volunteers than ever before.
